Imagine that you and your class will go on
a school trip through California, exploring both, the cities
and nature
To plan your trip, you will need to begin by doing some
research on the Internet using California's tourist sites.
After you have read about and chosen your favorite places,
your will fill out a chart (see below) specifying the number
of days, the places, and the activities you will do on your
trip. Later you will present your travel plan to your classmates
in a PowerPoint presentation.
Make sure that you think about the length of the trip and
the order of the places you will visit during your trip!
" In order to get a first impression of what California
has to offer, view the photos here:

In addition, collect more ideas by reading the following
texts:

Also view this site (you don't have to read the introduction,
start with the 3rd paragraph):

-What do you like to tell your classmates about California?
List the places you would like to visit so far (if you need
more space, just use the backside of the sheet):
Now, you should focus on the cities and their attractions:
On this website you can find the attractions by city:

Here I only recommend the links to San Diego and San Francisco:

If you know which cities you're going to choose for the
trip, you may find some more detailed information on the
attractions:
http://www.california.worldweb.com/SightsAttractions/index.html?vid=31138405
-Write down the cities and the possible activities you
have discovered, including some interesting facts (if you
need more space, just use the backside of the sheet):
Next, you'll concentrate your search on California's
National Parks and the suggested activities:
-First, to get an overview on California's National Parks,
view this map:
http://data2.itc.nps.gov/parksearch/state/state.cfm?statevar=ca
-On this website, please concentrate on two or three National
Parks (Yosemite NP, Golden Gate NRA, Death Valley NP, Joshua
Tree NP, Kings Canyon NP and Sequoia NP).
Don't forget to see the links "activities" under
"General Info":
http://www.areaparks.com/california.html
-Note what you have found and list the interesting facts
as well as the activities you would recommend .
You're almost at the end of your search. Is there anything
you would like to add? You may focus on topics you find
interesting. Feel free to search the Internet (see below).
Write down your results:
-Last but not least, if you have translation problems,
go here:

-If there's any information you were looking for but could
not find it, you may search here:

- Before preparing the PowerPoint Presentation, you
should get together with the rest of your team and discuss
the schedule of your trip:
- Fill out the table together with your group (see download
version)
